Selective vs. full clearing
Not every project means bare dirt. Selective clearing keeps mature, healthy, or specimen trees while removing brush, junk trees, and hazards — often the best approach for homesites and views, since established shade trees add real value. Full clearing takes everything down to grade for a building pad, pasture, or fence line. We'll walk the property with you and mark what stays and what goes before anything starts.
How we clear
Depending on the site, we combine felling and removal with skid-steer and excavator work, brush cutting and mulching, and stump grinding or extraction. Larger material can be chipped, hauled, or piled per your plan. On the steep, wooded ground common in our area, our tracked equipment handles slopes and soft footing that wheeled machines struggle with.
Erosion and the details
Clearing changes how water moves across a property. On slopes especially, we keep erosion in mind and can leave ground stable rather than churned. For projects near streams or wetlands, or larger developments, be aware that permits or erosion-control rules may apply — we're glad to work in with your site plan.
What Affects the Cost
Every job is different, so we quote after seeing it — free and with no pressure. These are the factors that move the price:
- Acreage and how densely wooded or overgrown it is
- Selective clearing vs. full clear-to-grade
- Terrain — slope, wet ground, and access
- How stumps and debris are handled (mulched, hauled, or piled)
Lot & Land Clearing — FAQ
Can you clear just brush and leave the big trees?+
Absolutely. Selective clearing is common — we remove undergrowth and junk trees while protecting the mature trees you want to keep.
Do you handle the stumps and debris?+
Yes — grinding or removing stumps and chipping, hauling, or piling debris are all part of the job, done to your preference.
How big a project can you take on?+
From a single overgrown lot to multi-acre clearing. We bring excavators, skid steers, and the crew to match the scope.
